Modern Art & Politics in Germany: 1910?1945 explores what happens to art?and artists?when the world is in crisis. Featuring more than seventy striking works from Berlin?s Neue Nationalgalerie, along with the rare loan of Blue Horses by Franz Marc from the Walker Art Center, this exhibition follows German artists as they responded to war, revolution, propaganda, and the rise of authoritarianism.

From bold Expressionist color to sharp social critique and abstraction, artists used art to question power and reflect a rapidly changing world?often at great personal risk. Many works have never been shown in the U.S. Timely, visually compelling, and deeply human, the exhibition invites visitors to consider how images shape public opinion?and why this history still matters today.
