BEN COOK-FELTZ'S HOLIDAY SHINDIG with ANN REED and ZIPPY LASKE — Celebrated singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and long-lost Christmas elf Ben Cook-Feltz hosts his 5th annual Holiday Shindig on December 14, a family-friendly event benefiting Rein In Sarcoma. The show will feature seasonal classics, playful and unique spins on holiday favorites, and selections from his 2020 release, Merry BCF-ing Christmas! In addition to Cook-Feltz and his all-star band (including members of Turn Turn Turn, the Wild Colonial Bhoys and Dave Mehling), the show will feature music from esteemed singer-songwriter Ann Reed and indie favorite Zippy Laske, as well as guest appearances by Doug Collins, Jaspar Lepak, Dan Gaarder, Mother Banjo, Katy Tessman and others. There will be storytelling, tap dancing, and a Christmas salute to Ozzy Osborne. A 30+ year sarcoma cancer survivor, Ben is honored to donate 100% of the event’s proceeds to Rein In Sarcoma, a nonprofit offering support and resources to those affected by sarcoma cancers.

ABOUT THIS SHOW

Senegalese singer and bass virtuoso Alune Wade brings his distinct sound to The Cedar stage for the first time this Fall. Blending Afrobeat and jazz, Wade traces the deep connections between West African rhythms, Lagos grooves, and the bold brass sounds of New Orleans. In addition to his performance, The Cedar will screen the short documentary Tukki: From Roots to the Bayou, telling the story of the creation of Wade?s new album, New African Orleans, and highlighting African cultural traditions and their journeys to Louisiana.
