TRANSMISSION (at the club) is a long-running night for people who dig a good, varied mix of music, showcasing the best in new wave, indie rock, British pop, funk, garage, punk, post-punk, synth-pop, electro and everything in-between each Wednesday night at the Uptown VFW. TRANSMISSION (on the radio) is a weekly program on Minnesota Public Radio's 89.3 The Current, bringing you a different theme each Thursday at 10pm CST.

?Jake Rudh?s Transmission dance party is one of those bragworthy, homegrown Minnesota staples, like Surly Furious, Peace Coffee and Purple Rain ? one of those uniquely hip things that we proudly share with our friends who reside in places like NYC, LA or Chicago as a way of saying, this is why we live in Minnesota. Rudh, who frequently tops the Twin Cities 'Best of' lists is lauded for his quirky sets loaded with obscure tracks, but grounded with intuitive hits spanning new wave, post-punk, glam rock, mod rock, alternative and indie rock. Every Wednesday night, Jake tempts people away from their workweek sleep schedules to bust it out and rock it to New Order, the Ramones, B-52s, The Smiths, Depeche Mode, Interpol, Bowie and everything else that compels you to adopt a lipstick rock-god persona.
