Shining A Light Into The Past Through Runic Studies

Loraine Jensen, founder and president of the American Association for Runic Studies, has dedicated years to promoting the responsible, scientific study of runes and runic inscriptions, in collaboration with Uppsala University's Department of Scandinavian Languages. In recognition of her efforts, Ms. Jensen was recently awarded the pedagogical prize from The Royal Gustavus Adolphus Academy for Swedish Folk Culture. During this presentation, she will describe her recent Fullbright Specialist project in Sweden and ongoing efforts to raise public awareness of these ancient guide lights into the Scandinavian culture.

Parking Information:
Free parking is available in our surface parking lot, located at 27th Street and Park Avenue. Accessible parking is available on the northeast side of the parking lot. Free street parking is readily available on Park Avenue, Portland Avenue and 27th Street.

Accessibility Information:
ASI offers accessible parking, restrooms, listening amplification, and elevator service. Manual wheelchairs are available on request. Sign language interpreters can be arranged with notice and certified service animals are welcome. For more information, call 612-871-4907.
