Starting with Slöjd: Sew a Felt Pencil Case

Starting with Slöjd is a monthly program for early elementary children who are ready to start crafting! Whether we?re playing with wool, wire, clay, or more, we?ll explore new tools, materials, and skills that prepare kids for a lifelong love of handcraft, or slöjd. In September, sew and decorate a felt pencil case (which can of course hold other treasures too!) as we start the new school year.

These drop off programs are suitable for students in grades K-3. Pre-registration
required.

Established in 1929, ASI has evolved into a dynamic arts and cultural center that welcomes all people to gather and share experiences around themes of culture, migration, the environment, and the arts; informed by enduring links to Sweden. From the gallery spaces, featuring local and international exhibitions, to the lively programming set in the historic Turnblad Mansion, to the shop, and award winning restaurant and café – there are many ways to see yourself at ASI and be part of this story.
